Our Commitment to Giving Back

As part of our purpose and culture at Apex Digital Solutions, we make it a priority to give back to our community. For over 25 years, we have had the opportunity to work with a variety of nonprofit organizations and have seen firsthand how hard each organization works for positive change.

Apex Digital Solutions Technology Empowerment Grant

In September 2024, we introduced the Apex Digital Solutions Technology Empowerment Grant in celebration of the company’s 25th year in business.

The grant was specifically aimed at supporting nonprofit organizations through technology solutions and provided $25,000 of in-kind IT services to one Michigan-based nonprofit in order to advance their company missions and enable them to make a greater impact on the communities they serve.

Eligible engagements for the Technology Empowerment grant included Microsoft 365 assessments and health checks, strategic IT planning and roadmapping, deployment and migration services, physical device and space setup, and custom service-aligned projects.

In support of the grant, Apex Digital Solutions hosted a hybrid Nonprofit Technology Empowerment Workshop that saw over 1,000 registrants globally. The workshop allowed attendees to hear directly from nonprofit and technology leaders, discover how to make the most out of Microsoft’s nonprofit offerings, including free and discounted tools, and explore strategic IT planning for both the IT and business tracks.

Apex Digital Solutions awarded the $25,000 grant to food rescue nonprofit Forgotten Harvest, who used the award to partner with Apex Digital on a comprehensive technology and infrastructure assessment and modernization project designed to improve efficiency.

Expanding on the original $25,000 grant, Apex Digital Solutions also awarded two additional $10,000 technology grants to Oakland Livingston Humane Service Agency (OLHSA) and Detroit Employment Solutions Corporation (DESC).

OLHSA worked with Apex Digital on a Microsoft 365 environment assessment and roadmap aimed at improving workflows, automating repetitive tasks, and reducing administrative burdens, while DESC engaged with Apex Digital for a Microsoft 365 Security and Compliance Assessment to modernize its IT environment.

From left, OLHSA CFO Brad Michaud, Apex Digital Solution CEO Jason Lambiris, Forgotten Harvest CIO Michael Butman, and DESC Chief Strategy Officer Carmen Bender pose on stage at the 2025 Fall SIM Detroit Leadership Summit.

Feedback That Gives Back

Feedback helps us improve, and we believe that impact shouldn’t stop there. That’s why, for every support survey completed after a ticket is resolved, Apex Digital makes a donation on behalf of each customer to a local charity that fights hunger.

The Apex Digital Team in Action

Apex Digital Solutions team members volunteer at The Children's Center Holiday Shop.

Children’s Center Holiday Shop

Every year, Apex Digital Solutions participates in The Children’s Center Holiday Shop, which allows parents and guardians to shop free of charge from a wide array of new gifts during the holiday season. The event impacts over 1,500 children and their families each year.

The Children’s Center Holiday Shop has become a company-wide tradition for our Apex Digital team, and our involvement has included both behind the scenes and hands-on volunteer work like setting up the event, restocking shelves, wrapping gifts, making blankets, as well as acting as personal shoppers for gift selection.

Forgotten Harvest Volunteering

The Apex Digital team volunteered onsite at food rescue nonprofit Forgotten Harvest’s distribution center in Metro Detroit. We helped pack emergency food boxes and re-packed and sorted fresh nutritious food that was distributed through Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb County.

By the end of the day, we had sorted over 6,000 pounds of pizza and more than 4,000 pounds of beans. We also helped load one of Forgotten Harvest’s mobile-pantry trucks that will serve 100 to 300 people in need. We are grateful to partner with Forgotten Harvest and help make a tangible contribution to our community.
